Harlequin Triumphant

Harlequin Triumphant is symbolic of the underdog overcoming the Kafkaesque bureaucracy.
The spiral staircase represents his long climb to a position of power over the authority and is decorated with a frieze illustrating significant incidents along the way – rather like Trajan’s column.
In one hand he holds a document he has finally extricated from officialdom, his other hand giving the 'V' sign for ‘Victory’/***** , while his foot rests upon the symbols of their authority.
The smile on his face says it all!

The figure is made of limewood, inlaid with 60 different types of wood, representing the 60th birthday. The mask and belt are copper and the buttons are gold.  The poppy is made of pink ivory wood and amethyst to celebrate the client’s grandchildren.

The lettering was painted by James Dunn

The base is granite, marble and mahogany.
